Getting Help

Newberg FISH provides emergency food boxes for people who are experiencing financial hardship and who are eligible for assistance. You do not need an appointment.

If you need food, please call us at (503) 538-4444 and let us help you. If you do not have a phone and you are able to come to our parking lot, please knock on our back door or speak to any volunteer.

When you call, the following guidelines will be used to help determine if you qualify for food assistance:

  • We serve anyone who resides within our service area, which covers the Newberg Dundee School District. People who are currently transient or without a permanent address are not required to show proof of residency.

SHOPPING-STYLE FOOD PANTRY

Newberg FISH offers a shopping-style experience. When you call our office at (503) 538-4444 during our service hours, you can expect to speak to a receptionist who will help you determine your eligibility for food assistance and you will be able to place your food order. The receptionist will give you choices based on available food items in several nutritional categories such as meats, dairy, grains, soups, breads, fruits and vegetables. You will be able to choose items based on your preferences. We do offer some gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary needs.
